My slant on this, pay the right price for the right part, it aint much on a car we spend thousands on to enjoy.

Imo smile.

I would tend to that point of view, especially when it is something that keeps drivetrain or suspension attached to the rest of your car biggrin

Unless of course someone points you at something guaranteed to be as good as the original.

What is original TVR? These cars are Kit cars with very few TVR parts in suspension and running gear. The so called TVR specialists know what the current parts available are that fit. But these gearbox mounts will be off a Sherpa van or an Austin Maxi or something. I can’t pay £20 plus postage £8.50 !! Plus VAT, even on the postage?? Just on principal..

Most of these parts are available from a good motor factor if you know the origin, which was my question.

Thanks for the responses but I wont buy original parts/TVR as there is no such thing.

Took them off this morning and measured them up went to my local motor factor and they matched them to Rover Sd1. £3.10 each including VAT.

Good point. Some things are original TVR though such as wishbones and steering racks but others are 'sourced' parts as you say. Still you've saved £27.40 there for when you do have to buy a TVR 'genuine' part. The argument for quality parts is true though. I guess if you look at the rubbers and say what would happen if..... and you're OK with that, then save your money.
