Last night got back to my car and found I had no dipped beam ?
Messed about in the dark with fuses but in the end had to leave her and walk home.
Texted Ian at TorqueRVT and so walked back this morning with a plan of attack.
Started her up, turned the lights on and the dipped beam came on ?
I know I'm overweight but I dont need my Chimaera enforcing exercise !!!

Any ideas, relay or dicky connection somewhere ?

I had a similar experience a good while back.

Turns out that the person who had fitted the new radiator had managed to pinch the wires between the the radiator and the mounting/chassis.

Of course it took some months to show itself then...
Sometimes the dipped beam worked and then bump it didn't.
In my case it was affecting just the one side.

A terrible place to get to but worth a look maybe, assuming no one offers some easier first alternatives...

Oh, on the stalk. I never even considered that.
Very interesting, thanks.

One easy way to check some of the stalk connections is to raise or lower the steering column.

Mine had a dodgy loom, and after using replacement parts to check the light switch, the control box etc., I found that by lowering the column everything started working again!!!

Once that got me closer to the root problem, we eventually found the culprit.

Cheers

Hi all,
I had a look at lunch time.
Turned the lights on, no dipped beam, switched back and to to full beam and my dipped came back.
Yes I think I'm luck its not in the radiator area.

Thanks for the quick and sound advise.
Tony.
