That's quite amazing, actually - I don't generally like statistics for the sake of it but this is quite an interesting one. Lots within half a mile of me, I remember a few of them happening. Cheers for the link!

You are right, high winds are extremely common it would seem when it comes to these accidents.

11.30pm on 25 July 2000 there was obviously an unseasonal snow storm and high winds in Oxfordshire.

What can happen to cause that?

Some poor bugger on one of my local roads was caught out by unseasonal snow and high winds in August 2004.

The fatals around here seem to have an overwhelming proportion of either snow or HGV involvement, the latter is fairly predictable but considering that snow is relatively rare it seems very suprising.

the facts on there are bks regarding each case.

Just done a postcode check, and it's shown the accident that killed my mums godson and his best mate.


Apparently it was caused by snow and high winds............ Funny, the fking inquest never stated either of them.

As ever the Police stats appear to have been made up on the spot

I know there is one incident missing from my area, although the details of the incidents shown on there at least tie in with the time of year.

A few accidents around where I grew up that apparently involved snow and high winds in June/July.

Shame it's innacurate as it's an interesting site.

nah this one specifically states: "snow and high winds".

Which is odd, as we live less than 1 mile (direct) from the scene of the crash, and that night I remember us all piling into the car, to go round to theirs to help out, only 30mins later and it was warm, damp, and still.
