At what age are you too old to drive a modern supercar?

By this question I mean at what age while driving something like a Ferrari California or say a Gallardo do other people think That bloke is too old and looks stupid driving that car!

Serious question? and therefore serious answers please.

Gallardo I would say up to 55 or am I way off the mark

State a car and the max age the driver should be to drive it in your opinion

A large proportion of people in this sort of car are older than 55 - mostly because it takes that long to be able to buy one for many!

At 33 I'd feel a bit of a tit driving any 'modern supercar' TBH. Got to be done in your twenties otherwise it shouts midlife crisis. Classics on the other hand...

When you are no longer sufficiently flexible or nimble to make a gracious exit and have to fall out over the sill. Getting in using a hoist does not count as gracious.

However, it's also a "what a tit" moment when the balding grey-headed mutton dressed as lamb is accompanied by a bottle blonde orange-sprayed waif half his age, unless, of course, it's his daughter.

I love seeing old people driving nutty cars - makes me grin!

I'd feel a bit of a t1t in any super car - aged 28 I had regular access to a 355 (okay not a proper supercar but nearly there) and while I loved driving it, I felt very silly when spotted by people I knew. I still get stick for it!

The 456 should be conservative enough for someone over 70 to not look out of place.

As long as you can afford it and still have your wits about you, why not? Most people will never get the chance so if you do, you should grab it with both hands.

gallardo - 60+
any maserati - never
ferrari up to 70
mclaren mp4-12c- up to 70
ford escorts mk1,mk2 - never just look at stig blonquest
