You e-mail him now and you can buy that off them for that cos thats whats advertised and u cant change things.. a friend quoted for some insurance and it came as £124 instead of £1124 and they had to give him it for £1124!
Sorry but that is balls.
That is not how contracts work. So I am afraid you can advertise at any price you like. You dont have to sell for that price. An ins co would have let him have that as a good will gesture.

This is true! An advert is not an offer to sell. Therefore there is no offer for the buyer to accept. An advert is just that - an advert. And to conclude the sale the buyer must make an offer to purchase. If you offer the price quoted in the ad the seller has no obligation to accept it.
I love contract law

Yep, the price is an invitation to treat at said price, the seller does not have to accept your offer. However, the seller cannot advertise at a low price and then only sell at a high price, they either sell at the price advertised, or don't sell it to you.

? Didnt realise 14 yr olds understood contract law ! ?
Read the other posts - you can advertise at any price, that is not a contract or an offer. The ins co 'quote' might well be different but I stand by the good will gesture statement nonetheless.
