Occasionally borrow my fathers car when practicality is required driving it third party on my insurance.

Question is can I legally do this abroad....need to travel to Belgium over Xmas but my car is too small! Sure this is irrelevant but I Am insured to drive mine abroad up to 90 days per year.

You'll need to ask the insurer. Failing that bung your dad £100 and get him to put you on his policy for the month.

Many insurers won't allow EU travel. And they don't *have* to.
