Job in Forex sales
Discussion
Hi Guys I have a Job interview tomorrow for a sales role in Forex.
I'm not currently in this industry and was wondering if anyone did this and could give me a few tips.
The recruitment consultant didn't give me a massive amount to go on apart from who it was for and a brief description of the role.
I would basically be covering a territory and would be completely new business focussed providing foreign exchange services to SMEs.
Identifying prospects - setting up meetings- selling the service - closing etc. so the whole process from start to finish working for a private bank.
Now I have no issue with the sales process as I do all these steps already but with a different unrelated service.
I just wonder what I am going to be asked.
Is he likely to grill me on general economics? What's happening with the Euro etc?
Or is he going to grill me on the intricate workings of a FOREX trader?
I'm sure I can relate my experiences in other industries to this one but I dont want to come across as stupid if I have a gaping hole in my knowledge of finance that I can easily fill with a bit of research tonight.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like its physical fx sales so nothing to do with trading.
Google up on the current spot rates for the majors, types of businesses that would require dollars or euros ie exporters or firms with subsidiaries etc, go to a few physical fx sites and understand their spread math ups versus travelex and highstreet bank's rates to companies. Learn a bit about competitors and their names.
And good luck.
