Linkages/throttle arm

I have recently changed my linkages for new items; i measured them correctly but due to the old ones probably being sloppy have slightly high idle. So i adjusted the throttle arm/rod untill idle was set as before(this was a fraction of a turn)It was setup on the last service so i have been told. Would this be close enough or would one bank be out to the other by far?

No - you need to follow the instructions in the engine section of the workshop manual if you have altered the throttle rod at all. If you don't, the banks will be out of balance. Its not really something that you can get right but guesswork.

You need an air flow meter to get it right. It's essential to get them balanced for a good idle. Get a meter and follow the instructions. If your around the london area you can borrow mine

Thankyou for that, so would i just need a 9 pin connection lead and laptop to carry this out? As for the throttle petiometers how do you adjust them? On a screw?

You need a laptop, a 9 pin serial lead, a serial to USB adapter if your laptop doesn't have a physical serial port and the software which you can download from either of those sites and an airflow meter. The workshop manual tells you the procedure in detail including how to adjust the throttle pots.

As for the 9 pin connector is this a MM MF FF connection?
