Had a great weekend at Zolder 
!! Lots of TVR's,
, friendly people and 
!!! I Look forward to the meeting every year and hate the fact that we have to wait till next year...
Thanks to all the people who were there and made my weekend again one to remember!!

My first Zolder, but definitely not my last!
An excellent weekend of

I had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone.
Some amazing cars, great people and some mad driving.
Congratulations to Hans for not missing any of the free driving even though you spent 3 hours fixing your Griffith! Ron and Andria - very nice Cerbera, Dave & Kirt - we will meet up again. Claire thanks for all the info and Jason, that is one wicked Tuscan. What a pity I did not get a ride due to that screw in the rear tyre!! Another time I hope?

My 3rd Zolder visit and unfortunately this time I was sharing a friends car rather than my own. Although abig thanks to Paul and his 400SE which was a far better handling beast on the track than I had expected.
I had a superb weekend again. Can't see why I wouldn't go to this other than extreme circumstances !!
I wish we could get an event in England which was as good. I am not being critical of the club, it just seems that as members we do not support these events enough and we can not get one of the ground to rival Zolder's format and success.
See you all next year, even if there is an event on England that good, I'll be back. !!

So sorry Axel got his 3000 smashed up.
Furthermore, got my ass kicked by a Tuscan in the sprint event, I think it was Jason's who was fastest overall in the end. Can't have that, feel another meeting with V8 Dev/Mark etc coming up this winter.
On the other hand improved my fastest lap by almost 10 s. so very happy with that.

Was driving behind Axel when it happened and can still see it in slowmotion. He went just over the cerbstone with his left rearwheel and went 180 degrees very quickly, nothing much he could do. Hope everything works out for him!!
Gerjo; 10s faster?? That's a real improvement! Only tried fastest lap one time and got held up, so no improvement on official timing but i could feel i was faster then last year during free driving!
Off to classic Le Mans in a few weeks, hope to see some old TVR's there!!

10 s. is a lot indeed, I guess I had a lot more confidence in the car this time. Ran lower tyre pressure (1.7 against 2.2 last year) plus all the mods must have helped too.
However, my fastest lap is now 2:05 while the fastest one (Jason again I think, on intermediates) did it in 1:53 so still a long way to go.

Yup - it was a good weekend so thanks to all the organisers.
Pity that the noise regs are so strict that I knew I would be blag-flagged again while going for the fastest lap but I was getting a bit bored having to slow down on two quick sections of track earlier in the day just to avoid being excluded.
Great to see so many cars that were actually older than mine.....sad we don't see so many at the UK trackdays except Ian MC's & Ian Bannister's etc.

Last year I managed 2,03.69. New dampers and engine mods will help that .... now just need that tuition again ......
2:03 ... That's really excellent, Johno! My 2:05 was with a passenger (90 kg) but with all the mods. Biggest restaining factor in my case: my guts. It takes great bravery to brake late, especially at the front and back straight. Also keeping the foot down in the long wide corners is something else.
There is a point where one stops pushing in order to make sure the (valuable) Griff gets home in one piece.

This year I was experimenting in my friends 400se taking 4th after the 1st right hand apex after the straight and carrying fourth gear all the way round to the back straight .... I don't have enough corner speed for the corner onto the straight, but it does keep it smoother through the back section.

I promptly smacked my wrist and gave him a bottle of wine

Had an excellent time at Zolder this year. The best TVR event of the year. Thanks goes to all the guys from the Dutch TVR car club who were some of the nicest people I have ever met.
Thanks also to Paul and Roland for helping me out when I got a self taper stuck in my tyre (probably fallen off another TVR
)
