What discount if any, should I expect to get.

I have just sold my own car privately and am now in the market for a used 520 M sport. One of the local Bmw dealers nearby has a 2008 (with a few toys) one with 25,000 miles for £17,995. I live in N.ireland and have no problem with jumping on easyjet to the mainland and picking one up there for probably £1500 less. Am I being unreasonable by offering them £16500 for this car after all its a straight sale. Or is this a no no. Would probably be prepared to walk away anyway and hop on plane. My thinking is its end of year over here and shirley they should be jumping at a sale even if its not brand new. Penny for your thoughts.

Percentage wise, I've been offering less and plenty dealers were coming back and saying yes so its definitely doable... that specific dealer might not be interested though. Call him and see... he can only say no.

These threads come up all the time. It's honestly impossible to know what discount to expect as no two dealers are working from the same percentages. You really won't know until you ask.
