I have an affinity with Titanium as i worked at the IMI in Birmingham when the Metal was being Developed into an Engineering Material.I have added Ti Components to my Bikes,Exhausts,Footpegs and Bolts,as much for Bling as for Weight Saving.
I then decided to treat myself to a Weekend Watch and got this;

Citizen Skyhawk Eco-Drive in Titanium.

That was followed by a Piece of IOM TT Memorabilia which has met with equal measures of Praise and Scorn on here;

Graham Oversize Chronofighter in Titanium. Presented to TT Winners,not on General Sale in Ti.

Then i got something to wear for Work;

A Seiko Chronograph in Titanium. 6 Years old,previously owned by a Mate.

And Today i picked this up;

Porsche Design Chronograph Auto P6612 1084 0245, again, Titanium.

I'm not likely to own a Porsche Car (this side of a Major Lottery Win !!) and Vauxhall don't do a Monaro Watch for when i'm out driving .

Ti Seamaster is my grail watch, not much by some standards, but I love the look and feel of Ti.

Some nice left field choices there, with the material being a great theme for a collection. In contrast, my collection is based on the theme 'stuff I like the look of'.

Imo the coolest thing about Ti is it sparks when abrasive blasted kinda like a fireworks
sparkler, hence Ti is considered combustible.

Dee were you at IMI when Raleigh bikes were using IMI comm. pure Ti?

I am a big fan. I have a Tutima Nato chrono, a Tutima DI300 diver and Breitling Aerospace. I don't have a picture to show it but the hue of the Ti looks very different on them. The Tutimas have a slight hint of brown when put next to the Breitling and seem darker. The 2 Tutimas also have a different finish, the chrono being sandblasted and the diver lightly brushed making the metal look a different colour again to each other even withing the same brand.

Put 2 stainless steel watches next to each other and they look more or less identical, even the Rolex unique 904 variant looks almost the same as any other steel watch case [slightly more silver]. Ti though, they all look different.

One thing I have noticed with satin or matt finish parts they do appear to reflect the background, so an orange background and the surface might appear to have a slight hint of orange, a yellow surface yellow hint etcetc.

Just my opinion.

Fallen foul of eBay and US sellers in the past. Even if I have to pay a premium, I will avoid that route ever again.
