Require help again!
I've been running my speed 6 on 19" wheels with gas gold shocks both of which were fitted by the previous owner, the ride is very hard I assume the shocks were set to eleviate the wheels rubbing the upper arch.
I've now purchased and will soon be fitting a set of 18" spiders and here my problem begins ....
Does anyone have a neutral setting point for gas golds to enable me to fit the wheels and run a fairly standard set up until I can familiarise myself with the new wheels and the new handling, really would appreciate your input as this is something I don't have a lot of experience with.
Thanks chaps.
Darren

I have mine set to 16 clicks to hard. Mine have 21 clicks in total. Mines fairly hard but I'm completely poly bushed and find the ride similar to what it was prior to me fitting the bushes and shocks during the summer.

Your best bet is to try it around 10 in each corner and see how it feels. The only pain is having to remove the wheels ever time you want to adjust them

Cheers Peter
What about the bump and load setting? I assume that's what the little valve on the inside bottom does?

Yep that's the one I'm talking about. Just try different settings until it feels right for you. Given your going from 19 to 18 I'm guessing you may need to adjust the ride height too.

Think given the the profile of the tires the ride height may be fairly close but I will try lowering it slightly, thanks for the response Peter I'll let you know how it goes.

I was told 130mm from the floor to the out riggers. But I found this far to low. Have mine set to 145mm and gets up my steep drive and clears most things

Interesting point, is the car set at 145mm in your profile pic? Looks lovely, I'll try that and see.
Any idea of the ratio on the shocks? I.e is 10mm on the shock the same when the car is dropped on the deck?
Sorry to be a pain but the more info I obtain the less times I need to lift, remove the wheels and drop again, I'm working in an awkward tight space.

The amount spring seat adjustment should give exactly the same amount of movement at the outrigger corner. You should be able to get to the adjusters by putting the wheels on full lock without taking the wheel off for both the spring seat and shock adjuster.

Just don't shortcut putting an axle stand under it for safety when you are pulling the suspension about! I have seen the results of someone pulling a car off a jack onto their knees.

The photo is as it was when i brought it with standard shocks on. I forgot to measure the ride height prior to removing the suspension, but took some trial and error to get it right, and would say it look right now.

The photo was taken the weekend just after finishing the car, was at Austec for wheel alignment and MOT and come back set to 130mm, but i raised it to the 145

I emailed gaz and one turn on the spring platform is 1.5mm.
