Really need some sort of clue as to what you like to do ... and where you're staying.
When you land, go to the WH Smith in the airport and buy our local evening paper "The Evening Express" (tabloid format). It's usually got a 'what's on' section about half way through.
Museum ... Maritime Museum
Art ... Art Gallery.
Drink ... The Grill.
Club ... Aurum (not my specialist subject though).
Shop ... Union Square.
Drink #2 ... The Old King's Highway.
Eat ... Cafe 52.
Drink #3 ... The Moorings.
Stuff ... The Lemon Tree.
Regardless, I hope you are made to feel most welcome. It really is a great city.
Cheers,
Eric

Like the Yardarm, Crazy Daisys, Neptune bar..........
Haven't been down that way for a while but I think The Yardarm is no longer.
What was Crazy Daisy's is sadly no longer a licensed establishment. I remember in the 70s they had "exotic dancers" on a Saturday afternoon.
It became the Crow's Nest and then latterly Hyploc. It made the news as the licensee was only 18 years old. A quick Google search reveals that it specifically welcomed those who "bowl from the pavilion end" - I hadn't twigged that.
The good news is that The Neptune survives ... although I can't imagine why as every time I go there, it's pretty much empty. The owner told me that he's busy on pool and darts league nights and that's what keeps it going.
I believe it was named after a long gone street of tenements behind York Street which was called Neptune Row.
I think I've said it before on here but the building sticks out as it's on one level. The reason for this was that it was hit by a bomb during the war and it didn't make commercial sense to rebuild it so they just popped a roof on it. Speaking to an older fella I shared a ward with at Woodend, the bomb apparently hit on a Saturday lunchtime - he could remember it.

Cheers,
Eric

Kiltie, interesting, must admit havn't been to the Yardarm for eons of time, probably around the 80's and Crazy Daisies, think I went in there once just to see the "Exotic" dancers..................
My haunt now is the Lairhillock, good atmosphere, open wood fire burning in the winter, good food, and the bar is a typical type old style pub, except the prices of course

Many years since I lived in Aberdeen, but a blast out the country roads, followed by a couple of quiet pints in the Prince of Wales and a curry in Shabaaz or banquet in Royal Thai, or seafood seduction in Silver Darlings if feeling flush would be in order (15 years ago).
Sure others are much more up to date than me...

I was in the Prince of Wales this lunchtime. It's changed a bit since my last lunchtime visit a few years ago (been in a few evenings and it's not aby different). Menus on the table with pictures, have to order at the bar with a table number and many more waitresses being food to your table and clearing up afterwards. Still as busy as ever with more customers than available tables.
I think we only visted Crazy Daisies once when we were students, and it was a midweek lunchtime. Exotic dancers, food and drink seemed a nice way to pass a lunch hour, but even then parking was awful and we never returned. There was also the St Clements bar which also had exotic dancers in the evenings, one of whom used to be in our class at school that we had left just a year or two before. We ended up in there a few times after various pub crawls around the harbour pubs that somehow always finished in the Mooings.
