Yaris engine/transmission noise ARGH!

I've had a Yaris snotter for the last six months and have reached the limits of what noise I can tolerate. It starts at 55mph all the way through to 65 and can only be described as a high pitched whine. I checked yaris websites etc and can find no real reason/cause. Can anyone shed any light on what could cause it cause i'd really like to drive to work without earphones in!
