Help - I broke the fooker!!!
Discussion
Well, the car has been running great for too long, so at the weekend it suddenly decided to start really erratic idling, etc, so decided to go for the obvious -clean the stepper motor! So, out it came and sure enough it was well manky so gave it a good clean and put it back in - tightened gently then f**k! the thing snapped off at the threaded collar!I suspect it was already weak as i was very careful. So what now, guys, how do i get the threaded bit out? And, assuming I can, where's best(cheapest) place to source a new one?
Help please folks...Thanks in anticipation

Another one bites the dust..
EXACTLY the same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago!!! apparently if you seal the hole the car will still drive. I heard that the stepper motor apart from controling the idiling is only needed so the car will pass emmission tests, but how true this is I don't know. You can get new steppers from TVR gear, but be prepared for a very very long wait
don't opt for next day delivery coz you won't get it, the canal barge delivery seems to work best usually 2 - 3 weeks
Anyway took car to SILVERSTONE TVR and they could not get the thread out, so had to buy a new housing (and new stepper motor as well) was not as expensive as I thought. Stepper motor around £90 and housing around £40 I think. If you can get the thread out yourself , then the rest is an easy DIY job.
