Technology Ludite - Where to download individual tracks?

I want to make my wife a complilation CD as a stocking filler of cheesy 80's rock classics. Having not got an ipod or such like can I still use iTunes? I don't want to download whole albums just individual tracks

Go to supermarket, buy Becks multipack with music download offer (could get 40 tracks for £20 last time I looked in Sainsburys).

Download MP3's for free from Napster, burn to CD, drink beer. Job done.
