Discard the onboard soundtrack. Or avoid using focus and zoom. But realistically for anything but home movies you need to consider external sound recording.

No personal experience to call on but that sort of kit seems to be what is required and it's a recognised brand. As it points out you can also use it off camera.

Note that it is mono if I read the description correctly. Not sure if that limits the D7000 feature set n any way but realistically I think one would expect to go to a separate sound recording system to get quality stereo anyway. (Assuming pro standard usage. For home movies maybe not so important.)

I have no experience of this myself but just for my own curiosity, are you using a silent wave lens or using the camera's own focus motor?
