I have an R1 engined MK Indy R. Currently I have a set of Toyo R1s (195/50/15) on a set of Inovit Rapid Black wheels which I use for road and track. Im looking to add a set of r888s on a second set of wheels (15x6.5 100108 PCD ET38) for track only.

Easy eh? Nope. I would prefer a set of black and red wheels (match the car) and reasonably light. I've looked at Wolfrace Ultralites (no longer being made but advertised in plenty of suppliers sites), FOX FX1 in black and red (no one has stock and I'm not convinced they are good enough for track use) and various other wheels. No one has stock, not even of the red/black Inovit rapids.

Any suggestions for a suitable set of wheels would be very helpful please. Not really looking for another set of multi spokes if I can avoid them. prefer matt black if possible. All red would be ok seen as they are track wheels I guess. Budget is err, "flexible".

Here's the car...

Compomotive cxr? Very light and strong wink they only do 15 x 7 though.

If your getting track only wheels why not go down to 13"? Lighter and marginally cheaper wheels and tyres. Less unsparing weight etc etc. just curious wink

Not sure 7s will fit under the cycle wings tbh, although I guess I can fit the same size tyres. Dont think that opens up any other wheel choices.

Suppose I could go to a smaller diameter, didnt occur to me tbh. More rubber is good too. Thanks.

EDIT - just had a look and it doesnt really open up my options, same wheels just smaller.

I've just bought some Rota slipstreams for my Dax, they seemed to come in a pretty big range of sizes.

Looked at ROTA link and the Attack wheels are the lightest, light compared with most wheels for 15s.

the rotas look great. Otherwise you'd be hard pressed to not just get team dynamics 1.2s, given what the car is for..

what about the other pro race wheels? they do a wheel similar to the rota. think its a pro race 2!
also cant understand why a 7" rim wont fit. will a 7" rim with same offset not make the front track width slightly narrower as apposed to wider? so should sit fine on the outer edge of the wing.
i have the 13" caterham 8 spokes on my mnr and like them a lot. and only 5kgs each

Rota's with the red stripe are discontinued so I still haven't got any. Been putting new, 4 inch carbon lights on and a new dashboard. I think I may well be stuck with plain black rotas or the TD 1.2s although I'll look at the pro race.

Need them by the end of march really for the new season.
