A billion investment by Toyota and at time of release well received.

I have the opportunity to buy a clean sub 100k well looked after example.

I know they are a 4.0 v8 so I'm guessing thirsty around town? Avoid or snap up?

It'll do 20mpg around town. 30 on the motorway if you're taking things steady.

How much is the vendor looking for?

Not certain yet, relative of a mate is selling it. His uncle has owned it past 13 years now too old and frail to drive. Sub £1k tho

If it's genuine miles, last owner 13 years and in good condition, it's worth £1,000 all day long.

... It does tend to be the default large barge of choice in these parts when used in conjunction with the words reliable and all electrical bits and piences still functioning. There are few choices around that can do that many miles, with that amount of space and comfort. Imageless, ageless car.

Used to drive around in a 95 LS 400- it still has the waftability that will match any modern S Class - very comfortable and a great cruiser.

Get it bought. My own is a mid ninties facelift, grotty round the edges but I'm amazed by how well it wafts and how reliable it is. Not quick but can hustle well if pushed.

I get mid 20s on a run and mid teens round town.

I am currently wafting around in a 170k mile 1992 LS400 and it is fantastic. You can still barely tell the engine is running.

Get it bought!

I had one and it was brilliant.

The only real issues are suspension bushes and the LCD displays go black, that's about it

Had two. The best barge, full stop. 16-28mpg, hard on front front discs & pads (no suprise), tyres too and require 4X4 wheel alignments every year. Known faults, LCD display as mentioned (can be purchased on exchange) and remote central locking transponder failing. Also some suffer from PAS pump leaks I believe, I think the oil ends up dripping on to the alternator. Cambelt, water pump every 60k miles along with plugs, Coolant change every two years & iirc auto box & diff oils every 36k. Great cars and a far, far better but than an S-Class or 7 Series especially if running costs are a concern.

Really?

I don't think I've EVER seen MPG starting with a 3, but I love my LS dearly and would recommend it without hesitation.

I had to rebuild my rear suspension completely (£ouch) and the front could do with some work too, but overall it's a nice thing.
