Looking for recommendations for a christmas present for the old man. He's into Pat Metheny, has incognito, where we live etc. Was hoping to surprise him with someone new but in the same vein. Any ideas?

Try 'Live at the Festival Hall' by John McLaughlin. One of the best live albums of all time, IMO.
