I've come out without any cards or cash this morning ... normally not a problem as I could skip lunch, however I need cash today. I have photo ID (my driving license), if I go to a local branch will I be able to get some cash out from one of my accounts? Or is it worth calling my branch first to ask them to authorise it? Worst case scenario is going home to get stuff.

Not been in this office for very long, so wouldn't count my current colleagues as the kind of people I would feel comfortable cadging cash off ... but even if I did, I need around 50 quid (need to buy some stuff for my bike) so even if I had mates I don't think many will have 50 to hand!

Shouldn't be a problem. They'll get you to sign and match the signature with the one they have on record.

depends how long you've been with the bank, I was once embarrased to discover the one they had on file for me was the one I'd opened the account with aged 10!

yeah, I called in advance and explained the situation, and they were happy to help. I think if I hadn't called I may have had to wait a bit longer, and wait for calls to go back and forth between my own branch and the one I was at, but forewarning them saved a bit of time.
