Have 2 today for contract work, I have not really done them before.
The one this morning seemed to go well, more chatting about previous roles rather than a technical grilling, went on for 30mins before the voice conference booking software started a time reminder.

Is it possible to gauge how well you have done short of asking? Face to face is much easier, you can tell if your answers weren't good enough and steer them back on course. Think I am over concerned as the one this morning was for a job I would really want to do. :/

Did you feel any rapport building? Were awkward silences avoided? We're there any laughs? Did you find yourselves talking about things you were both genuinely interested in? If yes to all, then that's a good sign.

Well it seemed more of a chat rather than an interview, none of the deathly silences. Seemed to go well but don't want to get my hopes up. Complete reverse to the one I just did, bad phone line didn't help, then a combination of me fluffing answers & unclear questions that had more than 1 answer to them made for a generally st interview. Scratched the latter one of my list, fingers crossed for the first.

If you get the follow-up interview, it went well. If you don't, it didn't smile

Always ask how it went at the time. No doubt plenty will contradict me, but it's pointless trying to second guess after the call has finished.

And good luck!
