2) Replace the heater knob back panel (been meaning to do this for 7 years) - Contracted out
3) Investigate the heating/aircon (hot air blows in through passenger outlet and aircon is woeful again) - Contracted out
4) Clean it - Contracted out.
5) Drive it when it's dry - not contracted out.

You did have to ask and it is some list i can tell you. Ok here goes....


Chassis clean up i am stripping the rear wish bones off first cleaning all the back end up, get it re-painted. I HATE waxoil rank stuff but getting there slowly. will be at this for a good few weeks but there is good metal under it all.



Wish bones will be shot blasted next week by my father and he is re-building my shocks too for a grand total of a few quid for the cost of the new seals so good having a father who re-builds Hydraulic cylinders for a living just now as well as 40 years experience as a mechanical engineer.


So they will look like new after a shot blast and paint. Then when the back is done start all over on the front end lol.

I hate the bodge home made cack exhaust that is on the car so i took a trip down to see Willie at http://meercat-exhausts.com/aboutus.htm So he will be making a thing of beauty and it will sound spot on when it comes back. (He did a system for my old jag in 316 stainless and it looked and sounded stunning.

some shots of the old system going for a cat back at the moment might junk the cats


I will be only replacing bushs that need it and most will be standard rubber as the roads are to crap to have polly all round as i found with my old chim it was just to hard on the road and i like the way the car rides as is hence getting the shock re-furbed over going for new ones. All the rears in the wish bones seem good with no play so i will leave them be.

The polly ones are front and rear ARB ones so don't mind them being a bit stiffer And brand new bolt set for everthing underside thanks to Steve Heath again



Ok list to do.

Car wont turn over either Immob or wiring break down somewhere will get round to it later. And this is why its getting a full off the road winter work over.

New alternator+ Belt as the old ones shaft was bent??? no idea how. Got it like this.
12K service full tappets chims ect ect.
Fix diff leak, the drain plug is weeping so a Dowty washer i hope.

Painted my rockers and made a cam retaining tool as well not the best thing i could have came up with but it work non the less.
Rocker done in crackle paint i quite like them.
braided stainless brake hoses and change fuel lines and all clips and just bling the engine bay out a bit.
Re-trim steering wheel




Every bracket that has came off has been shot blasted and painted and that goes with every bolt that i can use stainless steel ones to replace has i hate rust!!!




And at the end buy some rubber and fit these bad boys along with the new nuts i have for them



Then get the car re-mapped by joo in the spring i hope (still need to book it in)


And later on time for a full re-spray and colour change i am thinking jaguar racing green like racing greens sag???

Not quite Christmas more like 4 months of work oh i do love TVR's and this is the second time i have done all this to one the joy's lol

And when the car is done, finish my coffee table

Fix awful water leak NS footwell.
Front end respray, clear indicators and side repeaters (booked in).
Source turned aluminium dash and heater control.
Reinvestigate woeful handbrake strength.
Source a more antisocial sports exhaust (current sports exhaust with decats is still quite quiet).

Strip all the suspension,powder coat,new bushes,paint chassis,rebuilt shocks with new springs,new ball joints,new drop links,uprated diff mount with poly bushes,new front brake discs and pads,service,full geo setup,fix handbrake,speedo and wiper park switch.............all done....early Christmas present!

4. Add seat supports so the rest of the seat bolts go through something more than just fibreglass
5. Hot zinc spray chassis
6. Powder coat chassis
7. Rebuild gearbox (synchro on 2nd is going)

9. Replace front brake disks
10. Refurbish rear brake callipers
11. Reassemble!

A quick suggestion having done this a couple of times before. If you laquer the engine parts it stops it going rusty. Barrels are a good wine bottle store, or put some LED lighting in the bottom. Ikea sell some cabinet lights that are flat and round and barrel size. Glue the glass top onto the pistons. I used 4 blogs of clear hot glue gun on each piston.

I think i will use your ikea lighting idea as i wanted to do this any way. My plan is to shot blast it again , Prim and spray it a bright silver and use the valves as feet. Need to pull finger out and just get on with it but the TVR is taking all my free time up just now.

Finish making new water pipes, so far so good, made a pipe beading tool to bead the ends,

Rest of the components to make up the pipes, including bosses for the sensors and gauge


Up grade to a SPA dual guage

paint cam covers,

Silicon hoses

Clean and adjust steering UJ's getting notchy

remove all suspension again and paint ( didn't have time when i poly bushed it this year)

Fit new fuel pump bracket

Sure i'll think or find more.
