I'm just about in the market for a new car. The last one (Legnum VR4) went bang and I couldn't be arsed fixing it, so it's gone to someone who can.

I change my mind on which car to get roughly every 2 hours, but the one that keeps cropping up is the Infiniti G35 GT Coupe. I like the idea of something vaguely useable for carting round more than 2 people as there may be some Flying Ox Jrs on the way next year. Others on the list are RX7 (I know, I know), TVR Cerbera (I know, I know), some kind of R33 Skyline, VX220 Turbo, Maserati 3200GT, Audi RS4, Alpina B3/B10. The G35 lures me back every time though.

Any one here got one, and if so, how good/bad are they?

I quite like mine, I say quite like as I had a R33 GTST before and it's a very different car. Far more refined and 'grown up', but more a quickish cruiser than a sports coupé. The auto box can be a bit sluggish and dim witted. It's almost as if Nissan have programmed the gearbox to give that turbo lag feel, floor it, wait a couple of seconds then go, which it does quite well but it feels wrong :? Nice enough for trundling around town and a really good motorway mile muncher, but feels a bit heavy on B roads and I really don't get the tiptronic (but that's probably just me) , certainly good for 4 up for a long distance.

The one thing I would warn you about is that the trade of for decent rear legroom is that the rear seats are a fair way back from the door apature and the front seats don't get right out of the way so while fine for rear passenger access I would imagine that while fitting child seats would probably be an option actually getting a child into one and securing them could be a real pain.

Anything else just ask.

I had the sedan version in the US. Nice engine note, very comfortable, no squeaks, or rattles, everything worked, went well enough when you press the go pedal, and the brakes were pretty decent. Drove the and version, and it felt very nice. Just a little more nimble when powering through corners, but preferred the red version I had if I'm honest.

With the coupe, just think of it as a 2+2 350z, with added rarity value.
