Mine doesnt have a cover like that, it just has 2 small holes in the top of the tunnel one for the gearlever and one for the handbrake.

Having a cover like that must make access good. Mines a 1992.

When you replace it, make sure you seal it to the tunnel with a mastic.

You wouldn't believe the amount of heat that will permeate through on a hot day!

It's difficult to see from the photograph, why do you need a new one, is there something wrong with the existing one?

If it's just the split rubber gaiters that are the problem then I can tell you that they are in fact both gearlever gaiters, the one for the handbrake being trimmed and stretched to fit. I believe that the gaiters are a Ford part, p/n 6112048, however I bought my replacements from TVR Power.

As haircutmike pointed out the cover needs to be sealed with mastic. To make future removal easier I put duct tape around the tunnel first so that rather than sealing fibreglass to fibreglass I sealed fibreglass to duct tape. When I removed the cover at a later date it was quite easy because it pulled the duct tape away from the tunnel. (hope that makes sense).

thanks for your suggestions, makes perfect sense.

what i should have said in my original post, was "my 400 doesn't have one of these, but it would be useful if it did, so i need to fit one to mine....so, does anyone have one laying round?"

if i cant find one, i may resort to making one from fibreglass....but the bloody stuff makes me itch so badly!

Try Douglas Vally Breakers or similar.
