Someone has backing in to the side of my car. They stopped and we have exchanged details, they are asking to pay for it without claiming on insurance, i haven't contacted my insurers at this stage. I have agreed to get some quotes for repair and pass these on to them, once they have agreed to a repairer what is the best way to proceed with regards to getting the work paid for?

Ask them to pay you, and then you pay for the work. Cheque, bank transfer, pay pal etc...

I did this days after passing my test >.>

Turn in the road, was in a car I wasn't used to, bloke pops in behind me, I didnt manage to stop in time and give him a little tap. Was kinda annoyed that he didn't just let me finish my manouver before trying to get past, but I guess on paper it was my fault. I said that due to the cars worth it would be good to avoid insurance companies. He agreed that was the best course, sent me estimations from various places, and asked for the money for the cheapest one.

Sent him a cheque and all was well. Good job I hadnt spent my wages mind.
