Evening All

Decided on a whim today that my new E39 M5 needed to sound a bit throatier.
With Xmas and house move imminent, decided I couldnt really justify a Hayward & Scott or Miltek so decided to go for the popular muffler delete.

This involves simply removing the last back boxes, and replacing with stainless pipes and tips. Still looks quite standard but sounds awesome!!

Got on the phone to local company - Midlands Exhausts. For £300 cash, I could choose my tips and they made the exhaust whilst i waited. Very professional outfit and the results are great

Here are some pics and a nice video clip:

If any of you has an M5, I recommend this mod - it is fantastic. Not intrusive but lovely growl when you give it some stick!

Enjoy!!

Does sound superb but the only slight concern is based on a friends experience of an exhaust system replacement on (I think) an Audi S8 at one of these custom exhaust places. Problem was they fitted far too small bore in the pipework and it noticeably restricted performance on the car after it was done.

Still - can't argue for £300 for an M5 exhaust - I should imagine the genuine "single piece with two catalytic converters" OE exhaust is into the thousands from BMW?

Exactly what I did on my Monaro, with similarly-pleasant results!
