Throttle position sensor

Could this be the cause of dodgy tickover? I took off the throttle position sensor today and put it back on, now the tickover problem has become worse and is cutting out.
It will speed up to 1200rpm and then drop and cut out, altering the idle only makes it tickver too fast, to try and get it to tickover around 900rpm is impossible to regulate with the adjuster, the problem has been getting gradually worse.
Could it be a faulty throttle position sensor? because the car runs fine at higher rpm.

can you reset the adaptive map by unplugging the battery?

if you have put it back on so it is reading like 3% throttle then the ecu will think you are driving and not at idle

do you have the Noble Diagnostic software - make sure you have less than 2%

cheers Mike, problem fixed, its ticking over fine now, the idle was wound up too much and was way past 3%.

What happened was after i got the initial tickover problem i wound up the idle a little, then my mechanic messed with it and so it went on, so when we found the real problem i.e. a caked up throttle body, we had messed with the idle so much it would not tickover.

Based on what you said above Mike it clicked, i wound the idle back down to 0 position and then carefully brought the rpm back up to 850rpm and now the tickover is fine....yay... thanks again
