I have an 1991 M5 and I think the head gasket has gone. I have done head gaskets before so going to strip it and do it myself. Does anyone know where I can get a head gasket kit from and has anyone done this before?

Cheers

Why do you only 'think' it's gone? I'd want to be doubly sure before I embarked on that, looks like a pretty big job on one of those.

I suspect the gasket set is a BMW only part, most M bits are.

My 3.8 MY 1995 M5 has had a head gasket replacement and I went straight back to BMW for all of my parts....via Motormec who were well over 10% cheaper.

Yep unfortunately it is the head gasket. Looks like it's BMW for the parts then..
