I've been down this road with Javelin in November, Cheap day at Blyton so I booked on only to be informed with less than 48hrs to go that it had been cancelled due to poor numbers. It was only by chance that I called them and they told me otherwise it could of been even closer before I found out.
To say I found it poor form would be an understatement, taxed the car for that day, booked a day off work and I'd even bought 60L of fuel and started to load up the van etc.

Not sure if I'd use them again which is a shame as I've been on a few of there days and found them quiet good up until then, but I need to know when I'm booked it's on, not just on if they feel like it. I know they've got to turn a profit but surely that includes taking the rough with the smooth and considering the customers additional outlay as well over and above the basic cost of the day.

Anyhow rant over, if your booked on and they run it you'll have a belter as it's a cracking track.

sounds like you had an unfortunate problem there. i've done 3 or 4 events this yr alone with Javelin and not had any probs.

I quite like Javelin, a bit cheap & cheerful but ok.

I,ll probably book, but leave it until mid Jan.

I've had a re-map done on the Exige & have yet to try it out biggrin

I'm on their day tomorrow. I've never had a problem with them in the past, they are down to earth and friendly.

I know what you mean about there down to earth relaxed approach, it's just a shame they cancelled so close to the event. It left a bad taste and cost me a few quid (time off work etc) it really bugs me when a company you've used and recommended let you down like that as it just shows that it really is just the look of the draw. Still as it was under booked a suppose from there point of view they only pissed a small number of us off so no real harm done.

Bugger, would have been really interested in this but I'm going to the MSV novice track day at Oulton Park the day before......probably a bit overkill to have 2 in 2 days. idea

I'm tempted too. I did Blyton on the 29th December and had a good time despite a couple of showers. One thing puts me off booking too far in advance this time of year is the weather. I don't mind showers but constant rain wouldn't be fun and what do they do if it's icy?
If I do go it looks like am MX5 fest so far.

there are 7 confirmed for this now, how many, realistically do they need before it will run, surely a lot more than that.

I am looking for a quick day out somewhere in jan (with the mx5, not too common, eh?) and was considering going to 'new' blyton as i haven't been since the new surface. what are the overtaking opportunties like, i would hate to get as stuck behind people as i was last time i went there with my single seater, tootling behind cars on 1/4 throttle, bored out my brain waiting for half a lap before the next straight...

It's fine for overtaking, several places. I've not been held up for long nor held anyone else up.

im guessing these confirmed are only the spaces booked through javlin and not though the other companies selling for javlin ie trackdays.co.uk
