PS3 BEST PRICE?

Hi!

Currently I have a PS3 Slim which is coming up to 18months old but has become very slow. When on the home screen is takes forever to slide side to side and when in a game takes forever to load plus all speech is out of synch.
Now I have tried the PS3 restore (doesnt work) replaced the laser (doesnt work) no dust to slow the machine down or overheating so I am just going to have to bite the bullet and buy another one, unless someone else knows what else I could try?

Which retailer has a special on JUST the PS3 system?

before you shell out for a new machine, try a set of fans.

i was amazed at the difference that decent cooling made to my 1st gen ps3 (bought on release day and still going strong - must be nearly 6 years)

i got some USB ones from ebay.

guessing there are different fitments for the slim and fat machines.

ive been borrowing a friends fat PS3 (old one) and its coming up for around 3 maybe 4 years oldm, whenever they first came out and that is still quick as a flash and I placed it in exactly the same place as my one and no problems. Does anyone know whether a PS3 processor can get 'clogged' up so to speak?

Could be a failing drive? They're plain SATA 2.5" drives so I'd give that a go first.

I think about £170 is the cheapest I've seen the consoles for but deals change all the time. If there are a couple of recent games that you're after (or that you don't mind selling separately) there's some really good bundle offers too.

Isn't there a fan test for the PS3?? I did that a couple of times on my old PS3.

It ramps the fans up to 11 for a few minutes to blow out any crap that's in there...
