Ford dealers, are thier service systems linked?
Discussion
Need to get some info on a job that was just done on a car but not from the dealer who did the work, is it possible? Some very expensive parts swapped out on a 3yo Focus that sounds a bit dubious to say the least, plus the car was less than 2 months out of warranty so it ended up being a chargable job (owner is a little old dear who I think the dealer has taken for a soft touch)
Unlikely, as in the main, they're just franchised dealers, so their data belongs to them, not other Ford dealers
What repairs were done? Has it got a full service main dealer service history? Has anyone spoken to Ford to see if they're willing to make a contribution under goodwill as the warranty has only just expired?
If you don't ask, you don't get - The worst they can say is no

Its the centre console that has been replaced, the car started flattening the battery & the dealer in question replaced the whole of the centre console at a cost of over £2k. No reason for failure, no faulty part to return to owner. Smells a bit iffy TBH car in question was bought in october 08 & has 12k on the clock.
not disputing there was a failure, just the lack of diagnosis & amount of stuff replaced is the issue. Would like to find out what the problem was & why so much was replaced. If the satnav died why would you replace the heater control for example. Ford UK are saying the dealer offered a discount on the parts but the customer refused (!) which is not correct, and the dealer is being a bit avasive about it all now.
