Yes.

Watchout on grades.Do they have a listed grading shown? Some 'B' grades can be a bit scuffed.

Yea , some are described a "b" grade etc. Seems like they are honest with descriptions.
Eg , Mark on screen , only visible with some programmes
On my phone atm. Will post link some reasonable prices I think .
It is a present so I cannot really buy anything with a Mark on it. Looking for 42" from a decent mfr. Will be used for watching sky in sd , but needs to be slightly futureproof

Depends on price. New TVs are coming down in price so fast, you can now get a 42" full HD for under £400... for example :

I expect in a couple of months they will be around the £300 mark. So for me a refurb would need to be very cheap to justify me not buying a new one.

Quite happy to on electronics if it's manufacturer refurbished, you can get some great bargains this way. Recently got a Toshiba laptop for around half the normal shop price from Toshiba outlet refurbed- basically as new. Had a couple of Canon digital cameras too, again for around 1/2 new price.

I got a B-Grade 37" Sony Bravia for less than half price in the Summer. Apart from a slightly scratched bezel its otherwise as new and came with all accessories and a warranty. Very happy with it, would definitely have another.

Has to be manufacturer refurbished for me and the only manufacturer I really trust for this is Apple as their refurbs are basically like brand new. Anything big and bulky like a large TV would have to be really cheap as the potential hassle of returning it can easily outweigh the benefit I think.

I bought a 50" LG last August for about £150, ex-rental from Martin Dawes. It's a few years old, but we bought it for the 'gaming room' which I'm hardly allowed to used anyway and it's been fine. Sure, it's not the latest set and hardly has any features but for the occasional use it's more than fine.

I'd happily do the same again.

£150 WOW bow its the same as purchasing these 42" monitors cheap. I mean, who needs their internal analogue TV tuner or poor amplifier.
