Just getting broadband set up and looking forward to playing halo 3 online again - 4 yrs since I last played it! I hope it is still as good. Is there any way I can create a new xbox live profile or wipe the existing one? Because everyone had got too good before and the games weren't much fun, especially when I had mates with me who weren't so good and they didn't stand a chance!

Anyway what other games are great online? I think I mainly like FPS. I did try COD years ago but wasn't a fan. Prepared to give the new one a chance but I do prefer the gameplay with halo.

Battlefield 3 should be up your street! Vehicles like halo and battles like halo but modern day weapons/guns!

Could try Halo Reach but IMO its not a patch on Halo 3. I think Halo Anniversary has either just come out or is out very soon, which is like Halo 2/3 maps but changed and modernised a tad. Otherwise there isn't much out there at the moment only really COD and Battlefield and both are nothing like Halo, shame really...

I still keep popping onto this, ghost recon advanced warfighter 2 although a bit old it still has some great attraction and there is plenty of online players on.

Halo 3 is a style of multiplayer all on it's own, one that I despise greatly, the squad basis of games like BF3 and tactical basis of COD games may not be up your street if you're a frag fan smile

If you like Halo, nothing else is really like it. I suppose Battlefield is similar in the scale of maps and range of vehicles, but it doesn't play as smoothly as Halo games. Still a good game though. The new COD isn't any different, a step backwards actually in my opinion. Nothing has beat COD4 yet.

I've played most of the shooters around, but my favourites are:

Halo 3/ODST (Anniversary is Halo 1 updated basically)
COD4
GOW1+3
Shadowrun (very steep learning curve)

As for the skill level thing, I think it's a case of practice makes perfect.

I would say Halo is alot more tactical than COD, COD seems very much run around and kill who ever you see and if you don't win the objective of the match it doesn't matter. Whereas Halo you have to hold specific strong spots on the map and if you do lose you lose your skill level
