I was driving up the A338 dual from Bournemouth this morning to work. Quite light traffic, picked up about 5 cars in the outside lane at the start, but doing around 80 so relaxed. One by one they peeled off leaving a Ford Ka in front of me - you know the supercharged one that does 60 in 2.3 and the 1/4 in 4 secs.
Anyway doing 80-85 so no rush. Pass a few opportunities where he could have pulled over to let me by but didnt (no idea if it was he or she) and its not as if I had a string of cars behind me, I was on my own. The there was a gap of 70-80 yds between 2 cars on the inside so hoping he would move over I pulled in the gap between us, but he didnt so I dropped back and started to get irritated.
Then the traffic cleared, nothing in both lanes for 150yds, so I dropped to 4th getting ready to go up the inside if tyhe bugger didnt move. As we started to clear the last car on the inside I reeled in the gap again and decided I would give hijm 3 or 4 secs and then take him on the inside. By this time we were closer to 90 and the effing idiot brakes. He didn't touch them he slammed them on. F*ck I'm shaking again just typing this again 12 hours later. Took him on the inside, split second but I am sure the b*stard tried to come over on me but I was too far up. Another day I would have stopped at the circle at the end and kicked his/her effing door in but I was that shaken I just wanted to get away. Then some bird has crapped on my car and left a mark I can't shift - not a good day!!

Feathered type I hope ? Just have a beer. Goto bed and dream about having 2 30mm Mauser canons strapped to the front of your vehicle. And the obvious outcome .....

Do ya head in, don't they ?

I'm not that patient any more, I under-take at the first safe chance I get.

Its about time the law was either changed so we can under take or the police got of there 'speed kills bull-shit arse' and nicked em for careless driving.

Whats the point of these new 4-5 lane roads when everything is in the 2 out side lanes?

Get a Hummer and next time ram 'em !!

I drive the A34 everyday and use the lefthand lane except when overtaking and I usually get places faster than the W*nkers that sit in the outside lane.

Only mitigating circumstance for using the outside lane is that the A34 has terrible tramlines from all of the lorries using the inside lane, especially bad near Milton Park / Didcot exit.

I find indicating that you want to overtake usually works better than flashing your lights or shaking your fist!

I know - this is really annoying. If we built 12 lane motorways here they'd be a waste. Sadly the best thing to do is probably let the idiots get on with it. I've seen red a few times before and at the speeds involved it could get messy if it goes wrong.

Best option - take a back road route if you've the option. Funniest thing I've ever seen though is the road that runs parallel to the A1 at 'Woolfox Depot' it's got a slip onto and off it and my lodger demo'd a fantastic move,of, arguably, 'legal undertaking!'

Either way, don't let the morons get you down. Invariably they are sentenced to driving rubbish cars and probably membership of the caravan club. Or the blue washer jets brigade.

....I wanted blue washer Jets but the dam vette lacks the bonnet mounted jets-what a design flaw. Did GM not think ahead? Just think of all those Corvette owners out there that, like me, really would like blue washer jets but cant have them.

I've just modded mine. I'll bring my cordless drill next time we meet up so you can do yours too. I even plumbed them in so they work.

Next I need to get some of the shiny aluminium aerofoils that stick to your wipers, any idea where I can get some?

Was it hard to plumb them in? Do you think I could do it or should I take it to a garage? Did you use the standard washer pump or should I upgrade to a more powerful version?

How do you know the best place to drill the holes for the best wash effect ? Perhaps you could make me a template.

You're in luck Brett. I experimented with washer position 186 times, so I now have a high performance lightened bonnet. We'll only need to make two holes in your bonnet using my template. Only problem is I broke the drill, but I have a nail and a big hammer, that could work.

As for washer pumps, I replaced the standard GM system with some clear pipe into the passenger compartment attached to a fairy liquid bottle. The weak point of ding it this way is that it took fourteen months for my mum to use all the fairy liquid in the bottle. Then simply squeeze the bottle for that powerful 'blue rinse' effect.

Have you managed to apply the silver foil to your bumper around the exhausts yet? It'll look sooo cool.

I was in Halfords yestesrday having a look about for my next project. I couldn't resist buying this bright blue light that just plugs into the cig lighter and just sits there, being blue. Then there was this blue neon ring to mount around my sub-woofer...And then I couldn't resist the 5 into 1 cig lighter adapter - I thought that was great as I can now have 5 blue lights plugged into my cig lighter - all just sitting there. I cant wait to get it all set up for the German trip. Bet it will look well cool with a blue glow in the car.

Even better - I bought the Scalextric C3 LM car (it's a 69 big block, and looks fab. Inaccurate model though - it sticks to the track miles better than the Focus) - someone on Ebay is selling blue headlight conversions for these too!

Brett - look out for a roll of stick on carbon fibre film - that'd go really well on your dash and door panels. Oh, and when you get the cigarette lighter stuff, they do matched cup holders and a silver air freshener, not forgetting the mobile phone holder.

I'm gonna start saving up for this lot!
