I was unfortunate enough to be stuck in a heap of traffic today following a Audi S5, 09 plate and my god how bright are new Audi brake lights. really really blinding. Im guessing it was an auto(?) as at traffic lights etc he kept the brakes on, blinding me further. Is tehre any need for such brightness, and do they not have an autohold function (worked fantastically on my 7 series so no need to keep my foot on the brakes when you've come to a stop). I've noticed Mercedes are just as bad too. Minor gripe at the moment

on the flip side i would like to doff my cap to an Audi A3 driver on the way home. 5 miles of traffic and he managed to maintain a respectable/sensible/decent gap without being on the brakes every 10 feet (it was stop start traffic). I actually thought his brake lights might be broken, fair play sir good use of gears and engine braking etc.

yeah, why not, it sbeen at least 5 minutes since the last onebiggrin

as for the bus, been there done that and still use them from time to time (coaches to be exact for my commute). Not all that bad truth be told but not a real substitute.

Strange, I noticed this yesterday. As I was following an A3 the rear indicators were virtually invisible when the brake lights were on. Surely a safety issue?
