I was carrying out a few winter checks on Mrs VHPD's Focus at the weekend and I noticed that no matter how long I left the engine running the Coolant in the expansion bottle remained cold? I took it for a long run and the heater was working as was the radiator fan and Temp gauge.

Any ideas? Surely its not normal?

Is there coolant coming from the small pipes at the top of the header tank?

There didn't appear to be any circulation going on in there. Couldn't see any fluid coming through

Must be a water pump issue or blocked hose? No overheating?
