Thread hijack, but it is about Whytes with discounts!
After looking at the Whyte T-120 mentioned on another thread, I saw a 2010 Whyte E-120S available for about half the RRP, and it seems pretty good value for an all-carbon bike (£1400):

Surely for XC/trail riding this is pretty good value, and a carbon frame should be OK (I'm only 65kg, so unlikely to be straining the thing!). Getting tempted by shiny pedal thing!

I hope things have changed, but I have a whyte 46 with a similar rear design and whilst it is great down the fall line, it's utter garbage on twisty single track - way way too flexible, and offers little confidence.
The paint quality is poor too.
If you're a heavy rider I suggest you thoroughly test ride one first on the terrain you'll use it on. The 46 won lots of awards 10/10 5/5 etc. but my experiences were nothing like the reviews. I think it's quite a poor bike.
A lad I know who had one too get shot of his after just 12 months for similar reasons.
