Not far unfortunately Darren to cut a long story short I've got a 400SE and the tax in Ireland for a big engined car is huge so not to be without a TVR on the road, I started looking for one that was 30 years old. I saw Martin's TVR for sale in Northern Ireland and just couldn't miss on the opportunity to own a bit of TVR History and also that it was nearly vintage so would be able to get cheap tax on it here in Ireland. Unfortunately, I have been hit by the VRT Tax here in Ireland, which is charged on all imported vehicles into the country. It is a system where they quote you on a market open selling price.
Obviously they came back to me with a quote in excess of what I payed for the TVR in the first place. It is a system where you have to pay the VRT before you can appeal the amount. So, the car is at the moment garaged and could possibly end up being for sale in the near future. Absolutely gutted but finances dictate at the moment.
Car looks fabulous in the picture...!
