1 year old fuel pump : noisy again
Discussion
hello,
i have an S1 and last year i had to change my fuel pump. It was a very noisy one. I'm now very surprised that the new one have just started to be noisy again after only one year (5000 KM max), not on the same level but it will...
What could be the problem ? is it "normal" ?
thanks for your help.

If the 2.8 has the same arrangement as the 2.9 it is most likely caused by the pump not having a fuel filter before it. My S2 has the fuel supply straight out of the tank into the pump and then into a filter.
My car has had a new pump every 2 years or so.
My latest Bosch unit specified that a filter should be used before the fuel pump. This I'm certain is why many fail with enormous regularity.
I'm not sure what you can do as the fuel lines are far too big to fit an in-line filter in.
Any ideas anyone?
