superhydrophobic / nanotechnology coatings/polishes

Does anyone have any experience with these types of products?
There's quite a few on the market.
Some of them claim that they only need applied once every year or so.

Some of the videos are pretty impressive, with rain just shooting off the windscreen and paintwork. Might put some on my shoes too.

I use Rain X, it helps a lot with visibility in the rain and unless its hammering down you can get by with intermittent wipe.

I take it you mean these hydrophobic coatings you can apply to clothing? I was under the impression they're not out yet are they? Could be wrong though. I can imagine they'll be reasonably pricey, although I'm happy to be proved wrong. Worth a try I suppose if you've got something you really don't want to get wet/dirty!

I already use some rain-x stuff and find it's ok, doesn't work so well at city speeds but still better than nothing.

The new ones use different technology I think

As the OP mentions the word 'Polishes', I take it he means car polish.

i'd mainly use it on the car, but some of them are sprays which you can apply to most surfaces, shoes etc. Would also be nice to rub it on my face if it was pissing down with rain.
