Simple question really, having never driven on a track and now no longer own a car since moving to Central London, I would like to get a taste of driving quickly on a track. Preferably with some instruction, is there anything in the £4-500 range? Any recommendations?

Bookatrack run Caterhams you can hire on their track days IIRC. Never used them but it seems a good set up when I've seen them out.

palmer seem to get a lot of respect in this price range as well.

Try and get onto the vxr day next year - £100 for a half day with tuition

You need a tuition day to start with then take a 15 min instruction at the start of each track day you do, especially if the circuit is new. I cannot speak highly enough of a Caterham Circuit Experience as a way to learn track driving. I did 2 (Brands and Bedford). They were money well spent and set me up nicely for when I got my own track car.
