How to recruit web developer who can be flexible

Where is the best place to recruit a front-end focussed web developer who would be flexible enough to do about 10 days work over the next 6-8 weeks? I've taken on a project and underestimated the front-end work required (I can do this but front-end stuff isn't my strength and a specialist might be able to do this quicker) and really need a specialist in this area. However, I would not have enough work to offer a regular 3 month full-time type contract to this person.

I'm not really sure how to look for such people as most developers and recruitment agencies (understandably) in my experience prefer to work on full-time contracts. I am prepared to be flexible myself and if someone in a permanent job wants to earn some extra working weekends / evenings and taking annual leave then I can work the same days.

I would imagine the work would involve me writing a technical web site (with little design) and giving it to this person. They would take photoshop files that the client has provided and add CSS and images as necessary to make the technical web site match the photoshop files as closely as possible. I'd prefer someone reasonably local to me (Hertfordshire) as I would have to work closely with them and meet with from time to time (and possibly it may be a good idea for them to meet with my clients).

Is it better to google CV's or are there boards which I can post my requirements to and which people will respond. Jobserve and the like seem focussed on full-time 3 month contract type work.

Finally, what sort of daily rate would you expect to pay compared to a full-time contractor with similar experience?

Gumtree? But ask for previous work/sites and be prepared to be flooded by people who are desperate to work and didn't bother reading the ad.

Thanks - I was prepared for this, but I got precisely one response from my ad. However, I've spoken to him on the phone and he sounded appropriately qualified and knowlegable so I've agreed to take them on for a trial.
