Is this an all synchro gearbox?
Discussion
thats not an all syncro jag box, just a std moss one.
its in 2nd in the pic.
oops, edit that. its neutral.
the one I have just rebuilt was also painted that colour. usually to seal the casting I dare say. was bits of paint everywhere in the geartrain, over the 40 years it comes off in the corners, bits of sand and casting flash float about and shag the syncros/bearings. was a mess.

Is that a straight cut first? If it is then it's probably not all synchro.
being straight cut or not is irrelevant to if it's synchro or dog engagement.pitstopete69 said:

being straight cut or not is irrelevant to if it's synchro or dog engagement.if it crunches into gear your not listening to the gears, but the method of engagement, be it Synchro, dog, sliding gear, etc.
from the pic of that box (and it's not one I am familiar with) it's a 4 speed where 4th is straight though, so yes there are only 3 pairs of forward gears, the spur gear looks like reverse
