Swansea - Glasgow drive.

Forget going over the brecon's if you set off in the morning you'll not see the scenery, plus you'll add MPG by hooning over the twisty's.
take the motorway account for what time you'll hit bottlenecks Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.
Plan in stops try and get off M'way for you're stops too
going over mid Wales mugs game

Bit icey in mid Wales now but drive with care, enjoy the scenery and know that if there's a bump in front of you there'll always be a way around. Bump in front on a motorway and you have nowhere to go so utilise a route that reduces the motorway miles.
Swansea - Llandovery - Beulah - Newbridge - Rhayader - Llangurig - Llanidloes - Newtown - Welshpool - Oswestry - Wrexham - Chester -M56 - M6 >>>>> Glasgow
At a different time of year i'd give you a route that'd avoid Newtown or, at the very least, skirt it but it would include narrow icey lanes at this tme of year
Have a safe trip

Motorway all the way and enjoy the motorway stations
Are you insane?
Anyway, swings & roundabouts. There are pros & cons for either route & if I were to make that journey I think it would depend on the mood I was in, what I was driving & how important it was to arrive at a certain time.
