Gonna start to collect service items ready for the spring so..............
What atf do you guys recommend for the gearbox? (also is there a filter of some kind ?)
Same for the diff?
Engine oil: been using Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 10w 50 this summer.............bit pricey and maybe a nadge too thin?
Dizzy cap and rotor arm etc: change after a visual inspection or set time/mileage?
NGK B7ECS spark plugs: is the gap pre set or is adjustment necessary?
That's it for now.
Cheers

Just changed the oil in mine for some 20w50. It was about £18 from Halfords. Probably cheaper elsewhere but Halfrauds was close, open and had some in stock. I also used a cheap Halfords filter. My plan is to run it for a few months to flush through the engine and then replace oil and filter again, possibly with a better quality filter.
Someone suggested running oil designed for turbo deisels as it has lots of detergent in it. Anyone got thoughts on that?

Jim,
Go to the Opie oils website, they have several suggestions. I've got Castrol SMSX in my 350i gearbox and it improved the gearchange immeasurably, I thought I was in for a 'box rebuild before I put it in. You need LSD oil for the diff (I can't believe yours doesn't have an LSD!), I used Fuchs Titan Race 90LS - made the diff noticably quieter.

The Hatter is a smart man. Castrol SMX-s (correction of your typo) is excellent. It was designed for the R380 and is also thin enough for the LT77. http://tinyurl.com/7c7ncetIf a differential "chatters" or seems reluctant, use Sturco. It comes under many names as manufacturers buy it bulk.

Yes i bought the Fuchs Titan Race Pro S from Opie after it was recomended to me. The car was running a petrol/diesel engine oil when i bought it which seemed a lot more viscous. The top end rattles a little more with the Fuchs oil.Go to the Opie oils website, they have several suggestions. Yes i have an LSD and its quiet and very tight.
I was going to change the remote linkage bushes on the gearbox due to rattling and resonating throught the gearlever at times.....would it be worth changing the oil first?
