Just wondering how many have done this?

I've just stuck a deposit down on an MX5 after owning one a few years back. I've tried loads of different cars, and in the end, found it was the '5 that provided the most fun for a given budget. I was always dead against having the same car twice, but in the end, after trying a few other cars, I realised that the car I sold because I was "bored" of it was actually the best to drive.

I can actually see me sticking with it for quite a long time despite having a reputation for changing cars rather often (the MX5 will be my 4th car this year!).

Yep, had a few Mk3 Capris in my time. In fact, once, I actually bought back one of them I sold to a friend. I'll have another, one day, too smile

Yes, have had 2 x E36 M3's, 3 x Clio 172 Cup's, numerous E34 5 series. It's nice to have different cars but also sometimes nice to know what you're getting.

Had an Mx5 once.... wouldn't have another!

I replaced my ALPINA B10 V8 with a B10 V8 Touring. smile

I hope I've not had my last W124 or E38 and the family's count of five transaxle Alfas seems a little low...

I have had at least 8 Rover SD1's and 2 827s. Too many Minis.

Cannot see why not. At least you know what trouble you are in for and what oddities/faults to look out for when buying.

Had 3 Impreza's. Sadly, with the release of the hatch (which I detest), I no longer have an Impreza.

I've owned 2 5 door MK2 Golf GTI 8V's in a row and then a Corrado G60 followed by a Corrado VR6, the Corrado's while not strictly the same were still the same model.
Also almost always went for an MX5 MK3 2.0 Sport in Winning Blue as my dmonstrator when I was selling Mazda's, had other's 3 MPS, 6 MPS RX-8 231 and RX-8 PZ but none were as fun as the MX, there is something about them.

I had two Clio Trophies a couple of years apart and always compared the two, convincing myself the first was better in some way or another. I wouldn't do it again - there are just too many other cars out there!

I know if I had to sell the defender for any reason I'd either want another when i could afford it or the opportunity to buy it back again. I would have another mx5 but probably a mk2 this time and i would turbocharged it. I think it's sometimes fun revisiting old models you've owned, there are not many cars I've had over the last couple of decades I wouldn't mind owning again.

Had 5 polo g40s in the past, albeit all in different forms, i.e. road, fast road, stripped out road/track, track, racecar etc. and a corrado g60. Always wanted a VR6 rado and nearly got one just after I crashed my G60 but steered away and got boring tow cars. And nearly bought another g40 after being away from the scene for about 5years after seeing one fly past me once.

I think im at a point now though where I like to try other brands and 'move on'.

If I had the cash I'd get an Astra GTE. Wouldn't get another like-for-like though, and haven't had two of the same so far smile

Out of the 9 cars I've owned I've bought the same car 8 times:

MKIII Toyota Supra x2
205 x2
E30 Touring x2
Toyota Soarer x2

And I'd buy another example of any of them in a heartbeat if the right example came up.

I had 2 AX GT's - I didnt really want to sell the first one, but needed to raise deposit for a house.

I bought a tatty fiat to tide me over but it imploded after less than 18 months so I bought another GT, Almost the same colour, but a year older than the one I had!
