And the first was last

Don't understand it - on my PC the posts are listed from first post to last post (as in, when the thread is opened, the first post I see is the one that started the thread originally). However on this laptop, the exact opposite happens - open a thread and have to scroll down, or go to the last page to get to the post that started the thread. Can someone help?
