Just picked up an R33 and have been spending some time removing previous owners wiring additions for accessories that have long since been removed. Last wiring I want to remove is a basic set up to switch a rear add-on fog light. I'm looking to make use of the add-on wiring to the rear of the car and use this to feed the offside reversing light with a red bulb fitted. Can anyone tell me where I should pick up a live feed for the foglight at the dash end. Current wiring uses a permanent live which is not ideal. Looking for a feed that is only on when dipped/main lights are on and also need to know if the feed will be OK to run the foglight direct (LED bulb) or whether it needs to feed a relay with a separate live feed to power the foglight.

Any help appreciated.

Run the live from the normal rear light , dont run the live all the way through the car switch it via an earth

Like the sound of that as an easy solution although my first choice would be to have it work only when the dipped/main beam is on not the sidelights. Also, would using a live at the rear and an earth at the front of the car allow me to use a switch with a bulb to show when it's on?

You wouldnt want to run your foglight with just sidelights on anyhow would you wink

Thats the easy way to do it of course, if you want a switch that lights up you will have to do it off the dipped beam headlight switch , run one feed for the bulb in the switch , one feed to the lamp at the rear of the car and one to earth , most illuminated switches comes with three pins

Something like the led lever switch on this page
