Seen a few threads recently about highest mileage cars you've owned/been in etc, but just wondered what is the biggest number of miles you've personally put on a vehicle you've owned?

It could be on you've owned for years and covered big miles, or just that you drive a lot and cover a lot of miles quickly.

For me it is my first car. I owned it/shared with family members from 2003-2009 and in that time it covered 60,000 miles which were mostly done by me.

I'm sure PH can beat that! smile

For me it would be the original Fun Bus - a 2001 Vauxhall Astra 1.7DTi estate in white. I put 40k miles on it whilst I had it from 2007-2009.

Bloody faithful old bus that was, I miss it to be honest. I sold it to a Polish carpenter from Watford.

30k miles in a Peugeot 306 in a year when I lived in Birmingham and worked in Manchester.

My next car was a 3.7l jeep which I picked up new and put 80k miles in 3 years. I think it did 18 mpg.

I had a short spell in a crap dodge journey which was 25k miles in a year. Just before I handed it on to some f#*ker smashed the crap out of it drunk.

I'm now in a Chysler 300 and I have done 52k in it and will give it back next year with 75-80k. This one does approximately 22mpg so not frugal.

My company have around 400 cars in the US doing this level or above mileage and this economy. They don't really understand "gas mileage" and how to improve it. I have one guy that works for me who does 60k miles a year on top of his full work day. (driving is not counted as work even though we charge $370/hr to drive to customers). We worked out that this is equivalent to setting off on Feb 1st and parking up Feb 28th with out stopping!

I bought a Fiesta van in 1998 that had done 25k, in 11 months we put another 90k on it. Over the next few years it racked up a fair few more, we eventually sold it with 330k on the clock. Not bad for a 1.8D ford smile

Put 80,000 miles in 18 months, on a new XK8 when they were first released in 1996. Needless to say when traded in, I cried

What was the damage?

I think I'd have been inclined to keep it another 80,000. Then another as big Jags can put miles on if they never had "cheap" petrol...

114k on a Vectra SRI I had for 3 years from new as a company car, from 2000-2003.

Never missed a beat until the gearbox croaked at 112k.

Like a tool I paid £5k over list for the car as I wanted it on the day it was released. Pillock. Seem to recall it was £47k new plus the £5k
Sold it 18 months later for £20k after touting it around for months. Needed a 4 door so went for an XJR as p/x.
Ouch

Personally 66k in 2 years in a Honda Jazz commuting.

Wife has done 150k miles in her Audi A4 over 10 years and won't let it go. It's done us well and probably been the cheapest to run car we ever owned.

March 1984 to Sept 1987 377000km on an Audi 100 5 cylinder, without one single breakdown... mind you the Wall was still up and we had clear roads where one could average 170kph then.....
The most regular trip was Lörrach to Hamburg (twice a month) 2am leave, 8am first customer in Hamburg, another 2 or 3 visits then thrash home...1650km round trip. NOT possible nowadays...
Nowadays a minimal 65000km/annum
